Zeynoc Ledger

Product

From the receipt to the return, in one product

Zeynoc Ledger reads your clients' documents, reconciles their bank and prepares what you file. Each figure keeps a link to where it came from, so you can always show your working.

A supplier's flour invoice waiting for review: the page on the left with the total due outlined where it was read, and on the right each figure read from it, the date, the invoice number, the total and every line's description, amount and VAT rate, each with how sure the reading is.

Capture

The right VAT rate for each invoice line

Plenty of invoices mix rates. Capture tools that record only the VAT total leave your bookkeeper to split it by hand.

Zeynoc Ledger works out the rate for each line from the invoice's own figures. A penny of rounding goes to a rounding account, so the supplier's totals stay exactly as printed.

  • PDFs, scans and photos, read for the supplier, dates, reference and totals
  • A PDF holding several invoices split into one bill each
  • Corrections remembered for that supplier next time
  • Duplicates flagged among the documents and bills already there
  • Auto publish for suppliers you trust, under rules you set
One invoice, two VAT rates

Recorded as one total, £18.10 of VAT on £330.50 is a rate of 5.48%. No UK rate is 5.48%, so someone has to split it before the return can be prepared.

Bank

Each bank line leads with what it most likely is

Import statements as files, or connect a live feed. Accept the suggested match, or code the line yourself.

  • CSV, OFX, QIF and PDF statements, previewed before import and rolled back if wrong
  • Matches to bills and invoices, with part payments, splits and transfers
  • Your own bank rules, and a cash coding grid for many lines at once
  • Read only live feeds through Plaid on Professional and Practice

VAT

A VAT return you can stand behind

Every box traces back to the transactions and documents behind it. A return is reviewed before it is locked, and stays fixed once filed.

  • Standard, cash, flat rate and annual accounting
  • Late claims and the VAT reconciliation report
  • HMRC's obligations, payments and penalties for each client
  • A fresh second factor before a return is submitted

Live once HMRC approves it Submission to HMRC

A bakery's VAT return for July to September 2026, locked and ready to submit to HMRC, with the nine boxes as calculated from the books, any adjustment and the figure to be sent, and the checks to read before filing.

  • VAT reconciliation
  • Management packs
  • Custom reports
  • Budget against actual

Sales and payments

Invoices that ask to be paid, and record it when they are

Sales invoices go by email with a pay link. Your client's customer pays by card or Pay by Bank, and the payment, Stripe's fee and the payout are recorded in the books.

  • Quotes, invoices, credit notes and repeating invoices
  • Reminders when an invoice falls due
  • Payments into your client's own Stripe account, never through ours

More of the books

The rest of what a client's books need

Each of these is part of the product today, and most are on every plan.

  • Foreign currency

Invoices and bank accounts in other currencies at the ECB's daily rates, revalued at month end.

  • Tracking categories

Tag lines with a department, project or location and run any report for just that category.

  • Fixed assets

Equipment bills become draft assets. Depreciation posts each month and disposals post their gain or loss.

  • Budgets

Monthly budgets, filled by hand or from last year, with reports against them.

  • Construction Industry Scheme

Verification, deductions at payment, the monthly return and subcontractor statements.

  • A full export

Everything a client's books hold, exported whenever you want it. Your data is never held back.

Honest limitations

What is not live yet

We would rather you knew the boundaries before you bring us a client. Each of these is built unless it says planned.

  • Filing VAT returns with HMRC

Built and tested against HMRC's test service. Returns are prepared in full today, and submission goes live once HMRC approves our production connection.

    Live once HMRC approves it
  • Making Tax Digital for Income Tax

Built to HMRC's published specifications. HMRC has paused approvals of new software for the 2026 to 2027 tax year, and we will apply for live filing when it opens them again.

    Live once HMRC approves it
  • Filing CIS returns with HMRC

Built for HMRC's CIS Online service and switched on once HMRC recognises it. Until then each return is filed by hand in HMRC online from the schedule we prepare.

    Live once HMRC approves it
  • Live bank feeds

Built with Plaid, a regulated Open Banking provider. Until the live connection is switched on, statements are imported as files.

    Switching on before launch
  • Online invoice payments

Built with Stripe, paid into your client's own Stripe account. Until the live connection is switched on, invoices carry bank transfer details.

    Switching on before launch
  • Invoices by email

Each client will have its own address for suppliers to send invoices to. We are setting up the mail service, and uploads work in the meantime.

    Switching on before launch
  • Year end accounts

Statutory accounts for small companies and the Corporation Tax return are next in our plan. Until then the year end trial balance exports to the software you prepare accounts in.

    Planned
  • Accuracy on real invoices

Invoice reading is tested on every change against a fixed set of documents, and we are now measuring it on real invoices from practices. Every figure is shown to you before it is posted.
